Ghostbusters III Update

Our source passed along more info today, namely that while most of what we presented before in terms of casting is supposedly solid at this point, Christopher Walken is still listed as being in negotiation. As are Jonah Hill, Sigourney Weaver, Christopher Lee and Gene Wilder (!).

Robin Williams, Chevy Chase and Owen Wilson are set to cameo and, sadly, Rick Moranis has chosen not to attend this party, unlike the first party, when he invited clients instead of friends.

Shameless Vindication: New Ghostbusters is Official

no images were found

You may recall that we posted something about a new Ghostbusters movie a while back…a post that was derided by any number of other websites as being b.s.? Well, the new Ghostbusters movie is official, as Hollywood Reporter has put up a blurb on it, even confirming that some original cast & crew are involved:

The original filmmakers, including director Ivan Reitman, and cast are aware of the project and involved in its development. Some original cast members might be involved, but the focus will be on a new cast of Ghostbusters.

While this doesn’t all-out confirm what we were told by studio insiders, at least you know we didn’t make up the whole thing.

Nanny nanny boo boo.

Who You Gonna Call? Christopher Walken!

no images were found

You may have read over on Dread Central that a new Ghostbusters movie is in the works. Well today pause.com talked to a studio insider who not only relayed the same information, including that Steve Carell, Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd are indeed slated to co-star in the film with the original four Ghostbusters, but added that perpetually-unnerving Christopher Walken is going to play a central character…a sort of “evil Warren Buffett” (please, no redundancy jokes folks).

Bill Murray’s screen time, at least, is supposedly going to be a tad on the light side, as he’s agreed to a relatively brief shooting schedule.

No word on whether Annie Potts, Rick Moranis or William Atherton will make appearances, but we’re pretty sure Peter MacNicol won’t be back. Rumor has it he’s still drippings with goo.
