Contacted Samsung ECR on 1-25-18 and explained the Light Tunnel Collapse effect on my 2006 Samsung DLP TV (HLR Series). I also mentioned to them about the Class Action Lawsuit that was in regards to this issue back in 2011.

After an hour on phone they agreed to allow a 1 time accommodation on parts and labor. A text was sent to me about the transaction approved and a repair center will be contacting me within 2 business days.

One guy came out for a quick diagnostic check. Another came out with the replacement light engine tunnel but it was the incorrect part. The tech is supposed to come out today with the correct part and replace the defective light engine tunnel issue. I’ll keep you posted.

Samsung admitted several times to me that they know they have a big problem with this. I am out of waurantee….talk to Supervisors and told tough luck. I asked if they were OK losing a customer that would post this…there response…YES

There you go Samsung…you have lost a valuable customer and got a new post!

1. It is Grayed out because it thinks you are connected to the credit card service, even though you may have cancelled.
2. As of 11-10-2013 I found a message from QuickBooks in that they are aware of this problem and working on a solution.
3. Some people are creating a new company and moving there data to such to get around this (not me)
4. Also you may have moved your credit card processing to another QB company and the old company cannot get rid of this nag.
5. I have not tried this but go to “Company” “Advanced Service Administration” and try to connect to the service – it connects it may then allow you to “Disable Protection”. QuickBooks says the “Disable Protection” feature should work if the QB company is linked and connected to the service.

I am leaving mine as is for now (11-10-2013)awaiting a future fix.

Same issue… 1-2″ dark shadow down the left-hand edge. I also had a bad DMD chip (white dots and black dots all over the screen) that I just repaired myself. Samsung will not fix either issue. Same runaround about being outside of my 1-year warranty, even though I now have had two major issues with the TV. Ridiculous… I am never buying another Samsung television.

I just called and the supervisor I spoke with said there has been ZERO calls to them about this issue. I told her I found that hard to believe given how many people on this site have reportedly called Samsung. She insisted if even one other person called to complain about this, it would have been noted. She insisted that my call to her today would be found if the next person would call with the same issue. So, has anyone actually called Samsung with my model number to complain about this? If so, she is clearly either lying or incompetent.

Thanks.
