Level 10 - The Deck Text Version This walkthru is text only and presented in its entirety. If you don't want to spoil later events in this level, don't scroll down any further than what you want to read. Click on a step number to go the graphical page for that step.
1 - You're about to go through one of the biggest interior spaces in the game. The Deck is huge, with two entire exterior chunks of the Maria Doria resting inside a gigantic cave. While this level isn't too tricky, there's a lot of ground to cover. Start by going left down the walkway. 2 - Run over to one of the large windows and climb up onto the window ledge. 3 - Look down and see the pool of water below…almost reminiscent of the dive you had to make off the Great Wall so long ago. If you think Lara's up for a nice, cold swim… 4 - …dive into the water below and swim over to the small ledge on the left, avoiding the barracudas if possible. 5 - Whip out your pistols and shoot the toothy swimmers. 6 - Climb up the ledge on your left, then follow the pathway around to the right. 7 - Jump across to the small ledge and pick up the Stern Key. 8 - Dive into the water and swim down into the tunnel entrance. 9 - Follow the series of tunnels until you come to a hole leading up to the surface. 10 - Climb up into the ship's bay shoot the thug comin' at ya. 11 - Jump down onto the ground and head to the right along the ship, jumping over little hills as necessary. From a safe distance, take out the flamethrower guy up in the next bay. 12 - Contine forward, running between the ship's bays and the stern of the ship which is lying on its side.. 13 - Run around the back of the stern where there are a few crates lying around. 14 - Push the single crate against the two that are stacked. 15 - Climb up and push the top crate over once. 16 - Pull the first crate back to where it was originally, then go around and push it out past the edge of the stern. 17 - Pull back the crate that used to have the other crate on top of it, revealing an entrance into the stern of the ship. 18 - Run around into the entrance, pick up the flares and use the Stern Key to open the door. 19 - Run down the rusty ramp… 20 - …and swim down into the tunnel ahead. When you get to the bend in the tunnel, turn around the corner and pull the big lever on the wall. 21 - Swim back out, take a right out of the stern door and head back towards the second ship bay, where a guy with a shotgun needs to be taught a lesson in death. 22 - Climb up into the bay, take whatever the gunman dropped, and run over to the right. 23 - Step onto a dark metal hatch that falls away and drops Lara into a rusty hallway. 24 - Run down to the other end of the hallway and climb up the ladder. 25 - Throw the big switch to drain the water out of the stern. 26 - Go back through the tunnel, jump down out of the ship's bay and head back in through the stern door. 27 - When you run down the rusty ramp, remember that there's no water there anymore. Hang down from the edge to prevent Lara from taking too much damage when she drops down. 28 - Run through the stern until you find the crate in the wall. Pull it back twice to reveal a tunnel. 29 - Run through the narrow tunnel… 30 - …and climb up into a cave with a low ceiling. 31 - You're in the cave behind the big propeller that you may have seen before. . 32 - To the right is the entrance to a large, underground lake. Head towards the lake 33 - Jump into the water and swim towards the liferaft out in the middle of the lake. As you get closer, two frogmen will begind shooting harpoons at you. Dodge them by constantly adjusting your height in the water. 34 - Break out your own harpoon gun and send the two guys to frogman heaven (we're obviously giving them the benefit of the doubt). 35 - Swim down towards the left side of the lake where you can see a bunch of seaweed growing.
37 - Swim up to the surface and climb up onto the area with the crates on it. 38 - Draw your guns and dispose of the thug who appears from behind the crates, then run over to the crates and pick up the Uzi clips there. 39 - Turn around and run along the water, jump up over sloped rocks as necessary… 40 - …until you're overlooking a small pool and the entrance to a tunnel. Jump down and head into the tunnel. 41 - Follow the tunnel to where large parts of it are covered with ice and a guard appears. Shoot him down, then continue forward, ignoring the alcove on the left for now. 42 - At the end of the tunnel, you'll see a hole in the floor. Look down into it…you're right above the liferaft in the big lake. 43 - Make sure your health is at full before this step, as you're going to fall a LONG way down. Grab ahold of the edge and hang down, then let go…aaaaaaahhh! 44 - Refresh your health, then grab the Cabin Key and the harpoons. 45 - Dive back into the lake and swim towards the area with the crates again. 46 - Climb up and follow the path along the water again, enter into the tunnel and when you get to where you killed the guard earlier, head left into the alcove. 47 - Now you have to climb up a lengthy series of walls and bluffs… 48 - …until you emerge near the upper deck of the Maria Doria. 49 - Do a running jump across to the deck and head down the long, narrow corridor. 50 - At the end of the corridor, shoot the guard who climbs up over the edge of the deck. 51 - Turn left and shoot his friend, then grab the ammo left behind by the first guy. Run over towards the park bench and drop into a pit behind the bench. Pick up the grenades there, then climb back up onto the deck and continue forward. 52 - Drop down onto the level with the pool, shooting the various guards as necessary. 53 - Shoot the barracuda in the pool. 54 - Jump into the pool, and swim towards the obviously-bright wall panel. As it opens up to reveal a hidden area of the pool (and a diver with a harpoon gun), swim up to the surface and climb out. 55 - From the deck, shoot the frogman.
57 - Climb out of the pool and head towards the side of the deck away from the end of the pool you were just in. 58 - Climb over the crate and pick up the M-16 clips you find. 59 - Run back towards the pool and to the left, then drop down to the level below (watching for guards and flamethrower guys) until you can see the Tall Dark Crate and the Tall Light Platform. Remember this area, as you'll be coming here a few more times. Do a running jump diagonally onto the Tall Dark Crate. 60 - The do a running grab jump over to the Tall Light Platform. 61 - The first time you jump here, the camera zooms way up and out to show you, uh, a lot of stuff. 62 - Turn to the right and do a running grab jump to the crevice in the wall. 63 - Shimmy over to the ledge with the shredding steel on it.
65 - Walk right up to the edge of the shredding steel, then do a forward jump over the steel to the deck below (you will probably take a bit of damage in the course of this move). 66 - Turn to the left and run back into the corner where you'll find some grenades and the grenade launcher. This is the most devastating weapon in the game, capable of destroying just about anything with one well-placed shot (and reducing the victim to a pile of polys). 67 - Ok, the grenade launcher is the good news. The bad news is that you have to get up onto the Tall Light Platform again and the only way to do that is to go through just about everything you did before. Drop down off the edge of the deck you're on to one of the raised hills next to the ship's bays, run through the stern tunnel, through the lake, onto the platform with the crates, along the water and into the tunnel. Then climb up the series of ledges again that takes you to the upper deck of the ship. Drop back down a couple of levels, jump across to the Tall Dark Crate and then onto the Tall Light Platform. From there (whew!), do a running jump from the higher portion of the platform onto the top of the stern of the ship. 68 - Run across the stern and when you get to the opposite side, turn around and do a backwards hang drop thingie. 69 - Shimmy over to the right until you see the beginning of the crevice below you. Drop down, then hold Action so that you grab the crevice. 70 - Shimmy back over to the left… 71 - …until you can pull yourself up into the small rusty space. 72 - Turn to the left and do a running jump across into the high cave entrance. 73 - Run up the sloped tunnel until you get to a cavern with a bunch of small platforms on a steep hill. Starting at the bottom, make a series of (usually) diagonal jumps from one platform to the next unto you reach the top of the hill. 74 - As soon as you reach the top of the hill, two guards come at you with big wrenches, as if YOU are the one with the screw loose! 75 - Continue up through the tunnel… 76 - …until you emerge on a platform overlooking the roof of the various buildings on the upper deck. 77 - Do a running jump across to the first roof, then run around to the far side of the roof and head to the left. 78 - Do another running jump onto the next roof. 79 - Drop down through the trap door and shoot the wrench-weilding maniac. 80 - Follow the hallway until you get to a door that opens automagically. There's also a crate tucked into the wall here. 81 - Pull the crate out of the wall… 82 - …then pull it back once away from the door. 83 - Flip the little switch on the wall, which opens a door elsewhere on this deck. 84 - Run out through the automatic door, turn left and shoot the guard. You'll open the other door here in a minute. 85 - Turn around, run down the long, narrow corridor, then turn right at the end and keep going until you come to the door you opened with the little switch. 86 - Run into the room and pick up the ammo in the corner. 87 - Use the Cabin Key to open the door here. 88 - Run into the cabin and run across the row of collapsing tiles on the left into the corner. 89 - Push the button to open the other door in the long, narrow corridor. 90 - Run out of the room on the other row of collapsing tiles. 91 - Shoot another soldier as you leave the room. 92 - Go back to the long, narrow corridor and run through the door you opened. 93 - Follow the hallway out to a rocky passage. Climb up the wall and start running through the tunnel. 94 - At the end of the tunnel, you'll come to a wall that's too high to climb. Climb up onto the platform in the back-left corner of this space then do a running jump across into the next segment of the passage. 95 - You'll end up in a small cavern with a hole in the floor overlooking the smokestack that's lying on its side. You can see something on top of the smokestack, so jump down through the hole… 96 - …and pick up the Storgage key. 97 - Ok, start climb down levels so that you can get back to the Tall Dark Crate and Tall Light Platform. 98 - Jump onto the stern again and shoot the two flamethrower dudes from up here (make sure you don't get so close that you get burned to a Lara-crisp). 99 - Run down to the back end of the stern, to the left of the prop that's still attached, until you begin to slide down. 100 - Turn right and slide down the hill. 101 - Turn right again and begin running and jumping up the hill towards the storage bunker. 102 - Use the Storage key to open the door. 103 - Walk inside and pick up the Seraph to finish the level. That's it…no more blasted Maria Doria! And no more wetsuit. Watch the flic that follows and prepare for some breathtaking scenery. |
