See the young lady on the surfboard above? That would be Miley Cyrus. Or Hannah Montana as a gajillion kiddies know her and love her.

A source last night informed pause.com that the young Ms. Cyrus may be involved in a six-picture deal to play Gidget (made famous in a 1959 film by Sandra Dee, and then in the mid-’60s on the TV show of the same name by Sally Field), a young girl who, in the original film, discovered surfing and love.

The crazy part of this story, though is that the deal is supposedly with Fox, not Disney, and that it’s worth $500 million (yes, half a billion dollars) to Cyrus. Reportedly the breakdown is $20 million per movie with the remainder coming from merchandising.

We’re waiting for our source to get clarification on some of the details (there’s a whif of “get Disney to counter-offer” bluffery about the whole thing), but if this ends up being true, it’s an insane amount of money, but one that, given Cyrus’ following, might not be all that crazy after all.

Well if you thought you’d never see the iPhone go on sale, think again. Best Buy has the iPhone 3G on sale for one week only. All you have to do to get the sale price is be a member of their Reward Zone program, and that’ll save you $50 off of either the 8GB or 16GB iPhone 3G.

Reward Zone Premier Silver members (which you are if you buy enough stuff at Best Buy) get to save $100 off either capacity version of the iPhone 3G.

The sale price is only available in-store (no online) and is only good on new sales of the iPhone 3G with activation (natch). There are other terms & conditions. From the e-mail we received this morning:

*Valid in-store only. Must be a Reward Zone® program member on or before 2/21/09. Limit one per customer. No rainchecks. Not valid on prior purchases or refurbished iPhones. In-store activation and data plan required. Not available in all stores. Apple iPhone3G not available for purchase at BestBuy.com. Instant savings on phone requires activation through Best Buy on new lines of service with 2-year agreement on each line. The Qualified Upgrade Price requires a new 2-year agreement for qualified existing customers. Offer does not apply to Early Upgrade. See a Mobile Phone Specialist for details. Reward Zone® program is available to U.S. residents at least 13 years of age. This program lets you earn points toward reward certificates, which are coupons for discounts off future purchases. Full program rules available at MyRewardZone.com or in our stores.

So there ya have it. If you’ve been holding out based on cost, maybe this is enough incentive for you.

Spotted at the Office Depot down the street, this deal doesn’t seem to be available on their website (but correct us if we’re wrong about that). The 315 will do 17 ppm for text and 4 ppm for color, and the bundle includes a USB cable, some paper, cable ties and a 2-year product replacement warranty. Sure, Office Depot’s math is a teeny tiny bit off, but what’s a penny these days anyway? Now go get one of these so that your family can constantly bug you to print out their blurry 15 mp digital pictures in glorious color.

Last October, DreamWorks exited their distribution relationship with Paramount and inked a deal with Universal instead, the details of which are rather boring. Suffice to say, though, that Universal’s announcement today that the deal = not so much anymore is a blow to DreamWorks (since it included marketing $ to the tune of half a billion clams). So now Disney is thinking of stepping in.

Yes, Disney.

You may have heard of them. They make a lot of kids movies. And they own that 3D animation studio that’s done a few little films…you know the one…PIXAR. So Disney would be distributing both PIXAR and DreamWorks films? Hmm.

What if they end up getting cosier than just distribution? Could there exist a crazy, mixed-up future where Sheriff Woody and Shrek work together to rescue Buzz from the island of Madagascar, where he’s being imprisoned in an Antz colony by the evil Master Control Program?

UPDATE: The deal with Disney has been finalized. You can read the studio stroke-fest at THR here.
