The New release for Apple is the new iPad, it features everything that the ipod touch does just in a 9 x7 inch design.  Some new features for the iPad is iBook which on the main screen shows you a book shelf of all the books you have downloaded onto your phone and ready to read. It has a LED backlight screen for the best quality picture, some accessories that are available is a keyboard doc that lets you type instead of using the touch screen. It is a sleek design and will be what you wait in line for, not only for the chance to be the first to get your hands on it but also for the surprisingly low base price of $499 now this includes 16GB Wi-Fi, while other prices include Wi-Fi plus the 3G network and an increase of memory all the way up to $829. Light Touch

This cool device turns any hard surface into a interactive screen. Its software is limited at this time but I think in the near future there will be computer screen similar to this like in the 2 newest James Bond movies. It features up-and-coming tech like holographic laser projection technology that allows it to create a high-quality WVGA resolution image  up to 10 inches. It has an infra-red touch sensing system to turn the projected image into a touch screen. In addition, it runs Flash Lite, allowing for a bunch of different applications, it also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity, 2GB of onboard memory, and a microSD slot for expansion. pretty sweet if you ask me.

Kees van Dijkhuizen released a video of the films of 2008 edited down into 6 min and 18 seconds. With the end of the year coming, he has done it again with a year of movies 2009. He used 342 movies some blockbuster some indie and everything in between. This is the new way to check your twitter, text, and e-mail without having to pull out your phone, it connects wirelessly via bluetooth to your blackberry. The InPulse sports a 1.3-inch full color OLED display, a built-in vibrating motor, and a rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery. Its a good idea but with a $150 price point its not really practical.

We all know how cool the idea for the kindle was and it still is amazing for all the book readers out there. But now Barnes &  Noble have joined the electronic book idea, and they have some good ones. The Nook uses the Android interface and features dual screens, one to read your books on and one color touch screen to scroll though options of what you want to read.  The Nook aims to present books and their covers to you in a  new way. Like the Kindle, it features built-in 3G wireless network, storage for up to 1,500 books. One of the coolest things are that here are thousands of books available for FREE. Is the Nook going to be competition for the Kindle or are people comfortable with what they have? With a price point of $260 I feel if someone doesn’t have a Kindle yet and was thinking of buying one this could be a better option.

Just to add to what Lou said about the new mouse out by apple…. The same Multi-Touch technology that came out on the iPhone is on the new mouse by Apple called Magic Mouse, it’s the first Multi-Touch mouse. Click anywhere, scroll in any direction, and swipe through images with no buttons. It works wirelessly using Bluetooth, now you don’t have to worry about cables. It also has built in software that lets you configure Magic Mouse any way you want. Its a pretty cool idea to put the touch screen ability on a mouse, I will have to go test it out before I say it is or its not worth the $69 you will have to pay for it. (Which I don’t have to say is ridiculous.)

This is the new 370 Z new this year coinciding with the 1969 release of the Datsun 240Z so how else would you celebrate but having a 40th anniversary car. The 370Z design is very cool and slick, its look is aggressive and mean. The new Z moves beyond the quiet 150hp 2.4-liter engine of the original 69′.  Nissan’s latest and greatest tech features include a 332 hp V6 —no turbo for this edition which I think is a waste — 19-inch, “smoke” Rays wheels, a special 40th Quartz paint job, red brake calipers, red leather interior, red stitching, and the requisite 40th anniversary badges and commemorative plaque.

The good news is, is that it has been designed and is ready to be built. The bad news is that its only in China, you start at the bottom and work your way to the top. This building was designed by Francesco Gatti, chief architect at the design firm 3GATTI in Italy. So Im sure all of you have dreamed of owning a vintage Gullwing at one time or another well that time has come around again. The new 2010 Mercedes-benz SLS AMG Gullwing is killin it on the streets with a 6.3 Liter AMG V8 which is packing 563 hp, going 0-60 in 3.7 seconds,  and a top speed of 197 mph! this this looks amazing and is sure to turn heads where ever you go. Now this is a sweet looking ipod it holds 4GB its surrounded in steel with a buttonless design, and the most amazing part of it is it will talk to you… it tells you the Artist and playlist names. Its only $100 as the most budget friendly ipod it is looking pretty awesome. Sold exclusively at the Apple store or at apple.com get your now it will be the christmas gift to get the music lover out there… did that sound like an advertisement for apple? I wasn’t trying to it just looks that cool.

Motorola has entered the Android phone game and is off to a great start! their new phone for T-mobile has a fully customizable main screen which they have titles MOTOBLUR, add your twitter, e-mail, facebook, and the weather all on one page. The CLIQ is due out for the fall of this year, other features include a 3 inch touch screen, WiFi, 3G networking, a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and video (If any new phone doesn’t have auto focus by now get with the program it is amazing.),  a slide out keyboard and built in Google browser and more…

The phone looks like a Nex-Gen Sidekick I like the look of it and I like an option of a keyboard when available I have never had a good time with touch screen typing I like the keyboard. What do you guys think of the new phone and would you prefer a touchscreen or a keyboard?

For the 50 year birthday of the Mini cooper they have reviled the car that they say will compete with the Audi TT. It starts out with chopping off the top and and making it a soft top. Under the hood they put a 211 horsepower 1.6 liter engine  and stiffened suspension.  I really like the new look of the mini cooper I hope much doesn’t change from the concept to the real thing. If you’re a fan of G.I. Joe then this is a must have: The G.I. Joe Complete Collector’s Set ($145). At ComicCon this year Avatar director James Cameron talked about his love for 3-D and his plans for the future of possible remakes.

“We’re going to do Titanic in 3-D! We’ve already done a 90 second clip of it and it’s phenomenal and gorgeous, so that’s going to be the project for next year. It’s a conversion of it, not native photography, we can’t go back.”

That sound awsome! eventhough I never saw Titanic in the theaters and cried with the rest of the world, I think it would be amazing to see a film like that in 3-D. Here is what he had to say about possibly remaking his other films in 3-D.

” You know, we’ve thought about Terminator 2, which could be fun because I think that’s a film that stands the test of time for me. I think the Aliens was a really good film in its time , but visually it doesn’t quite hold up. We’ve kind of evolved beyond that now, I mean for me it doesn’t. Terminator 2, I think is the cusp of where it still holds up. True Lies, I don’t think so, it doesn’t feel right to me. Titanic absolutely, slam dunk! I want to see it!”

With the 15th anniversary coming up in 2012 I am predicting a release around that time, or if he is working on Titanic 3-D next year it could be out as early as 2011. What types of movies would you like to see redone in 3-D?

After a long search, Warner Bros. have picked Ryan Reynolds as its choice to play Hal Jordan for the new Green Lantern movie. The film is being directed by Casino Royale director Martin Campbell and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti. Ryan Reynolds was up for the role against Bradley Cooper, Jared Leto, and just recently Justin Timberlake. The studio, Campbell and the producers all had different ideas for the role which they say is why it took so long to come up with a final pick. With the script written and finished the producers are anxious to begin production in January and have a release date of June 17th 2011, they are set to shoot the film at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney with a (non final) budget of 150 million.

Introducing the new HTC Hero android phone that is going to give the G3 Iphone and the Palm Pre a new challenger. The Hero features a 5 megapixel camera,  it runs on a 528-MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A processor, a 3.2-inch glass capacitive multitouch 320×480 screen,  MicroSD memory card slot, GPS, compass, gravity sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the best part is the Adobe Flash support browser. This phone looks great with a smooth looking face and will be available in black or white. The phone interface is calling itself Sense with an amazingly easy to use and customizable front screen.  If you are on facebook or Twitter you can link those sites to your phonebook and see what people are saying without opening the browser.  The biggest thing I am worried about is what service it will be brought to you on, the release date is not set yet but is it rumored to come out later in the year I can’t wait for this phone because I am not a iphone lover and I could really get behind this phone.

The AMPAS announced today that there will a total of ten nominees up for best picture next year. Not since 1943 has there been this many up for the nomination, this could add a bit more interest in the award show but it could add a bunch of movies that really don’t deserve to be in the running in the first place. I’m not sure what they’re trying to accomplish here. This year’s award show was pretty good, hosted by Hugh Jackman…I enjoyed it. They need to bring that same energy to the new show, and it’s not going to cut it by just adding more nominees. Here’s what Academy President Sid Ganis had to say about the change:

“Having 10 Best Picture nominees is going allow Academy voters to recognize and include some of the fantastic movies that often show up in the other Oscar categories, but have been squeezed out of the race for the top prize. I can’t wait to see what that list of ten looks like when the nominees are announced in February.”

Ok well this is just a long long shot, but in a recent interview about the new Project Natal. It was rumored that Microsoft may need to use a new console for the Natal to work. Here’s what Xbox director of product management Aaron Greenberg had to say:

“I think part of the excitement about this announcement is that in many ways we are delivering a next generation experience this generation. With that said, I can conform that Natal will run on Xbox 360 so no new console investment will be necessary.”

Now you see he didn’t reject or confirm the introduction of a new system, I would love to see a new console with Blu-ray! Anyway it’s probably all B.S. but its fun to dream. What kind of additions would you like to see with a new Xbox?

If you don’t know what Carbon Motors is, its the first car company that designs and manufactures police cars right off the production line. Everything a police officer needs is built right in, including an all digital touchscreen that takes the image from the license plate from the car in front of it and scans it into the system. Its all voice activated to call in codes back to the police station. All the lights are integrated into the build of the car instead of drilling into the top of the car, which can slow down its speed. The engine will be a 300 hp diesel which will be more fuel efficient and a lot faster than the cars they use now. At this years police convention the E7 was introduced - it can go 0-60 in 6.5 seconds! As a whole this car is made for the daily use of the police, with all the stopping and starting that wears heavily on the engine. This car handles it like a champ: It’s meant to be driven 250,000 miles and is sure to change the future of the police department (and hopefully save a lot more lives in the process). As the guys mentioned in this week’s podcast, the latest PS3 rumor is that Sony is planing to drop the price for the Playstation in August, but this was never talked about at E3 to answer a lot of the rumors surrounding the price cut. Hopefully this rumor is true even though Sony is denying it all. Then again these are the same people who denied the existence of the PSP Go and we all know that was a lie. The Wii is at the top spot for units sold, with 714,200 outselling Playstation 2, 3, PSP and Xbox 360 combined! Coming in second is the DS which moved 414,800 last month.  If Sony plans on jumping ahead of the Xbox 360 it better plan on at least coming out with a bundle or actually come through and drop the price… We’ll see.

In other news some pictures that were turned into the patent office revealed the look for the new Playstation motion controller. These pics have been registered by Sony for a year but since the look of the remote on E3 was laughable, (what was with that pink ball on the top of the controller) I hope it has some truth to it.

I was searching on the Nintendo website when I found a post that was titled Black Wii, I squealed with excitement but the link took me the the Japan site for Nintendo. The sales for the Wii are lacking in the foreign state and hopfully their answer is in the new color.  the controller will also be black but the bad news is… its only available in Japan, there has been no word on a release in the States.

Another release to Japan will be the new color for the DSi, Red. That makes the sixth color for the DSi including White, Black, Pink, Lime Green, Metallic Blue, and now Red. Could you imagine a Lime green Wii or even a pink one…?
