Think you have the coolest home office on the block just cuz you plunked down a grand for an Aeron and another $4k for a MILK desk? Think again, caveman!

Hit the clicky thingie to read more…

The Ovei, by Oculas, is a $100k isolation pod designed to relax, entertain, and breed clear thinking. We contacted the Ovei’s designer, Lee McCormack, to get some more details on the successor to what he originally wanted to call…wait for it…the iPod. Strangely, that name was already taken. (we didn’t ask by whom), so he called the first version Oculas, which then became the name of his company.

Anyway, for your hundred large, you get to choose one of four standard colors (black, white, silver or graphite), although custom colors can be had starting at about $1,600. You also get climate control, leather trim, lighting, a Crestron control interface, 5.1 surround JBL speaker system, 24″ flat screen (various brands), seating, and a control panel to integrate a Kaleidescape, Crestron, PC, Mac, game consoles, external screen etc.

The Ovei is constructed primarily of GRP (a combination of fiberglass and resin) and the interior features leather, fabrics and more GRP (presumably the inside of the GRP that’s on the outside).

One other cool thing is that the door is electronic and uses various security locks such as a fingerprint scanner, pin code, swipe card, etc. In other words, put one of these in your home and in addition to having the coolest private work/play space ever, you also have a fantastic spot not to be found while playing Hide & Seek, since nobody else but you will be able to open the thing.

Great. Now all we need is about half a mil so that we can put a handful of these in a room for the most awesome LAN party ever!
