We start out this episode with some listener mail etc.

In this episode, Tony talks about Spiderman: Shattered Dimansions. Lou talks about playing World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Miscellaneous video game news follows.

In TV (~19:10), the guys start off with The Walking Dead, then talk about Top Chef All-Stars.  Tony talks a bit about The Office and Modern Family, and Lou follows up with Chase and The Next Great Baker, with random TV news tidbits after that.

In Movies (~50:25), Tony saw Knight and Day, Chloe, and The Boys: The Sherman Brothers Storey. Lou saw absolutely nothing. But wishes he had. Miscellaneous movie news follows.

In the Mash-Up segment (~1:12:25) the news this week includes:

  • The Gawker websites were hacked recently, prompting them to warn all users of Gizmodo, io9, Jalopnik, Kotaku, Lifehacker and the rest of their sites not only to change their passwords, but if they use the same e-mail address / password combination on other sites, to make sure they change all of those as well.
  • A new interactive book called ‘The Sounds of Star Wars’ tells the stories of how the various sounds in the movies were made, and includes digital audio in a little device attached to the book so that you can hear the sounds as you’re reading about it.

  • Pope Benedict is supposedly interested in replacing his funky Mercedes Popemobile with something solar powered.
  • That press conference NASA held a couple weeks ago was to announce their discovery of a bacteria that uses arsenic to survive rather than phosphorus. But they found it here on earth.
  •  An IBM supercomputer called Watson will be a contestant on Jeopardy in February. It’ll go up against the shows two most accomplished players, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, on the 14th, 15th and 16th.
  •  The Chameleon X-1 is a new mouse made by Shogun Bros. that has a full gamepad on the bottom.
  • A man named Timothy Ray Brown has been officially classified as being cured of HIV.
