We start out this episode with some listener mail etc.

In this episode, Tony talks about the full version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, as well as  Metro 2033. Lou talks about playing the Beta of Bejeweled 3 some more. Miscellaneous video game news follows.

In TV (~26:30), the guys start off with The Event, then talk about Top Chef: Just Desserts.  Lou follows up with ChuckStargate: Universe and finally Private Chefs of Beverly Hills, with random TV news tidbits after that.

In Movies (~1:02:55), Tony saw The Kids Are All Right, and Lou saw Pandorum and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. Miscellaneous movie news follows.

In the Mash-Up segment (~1:33:45) the news this week includes:

  • Production of Chevy’s all-electric Volt officially began yesterday. GM is auctioning off the first one for charity. You can go to bidonthevolt.com through 6pm Eastern time on December 14th for your chance to bid & win.
  • Microsoft is seeming a little desperate to move Windows Phone 7 devices, offering a limited-time “buy one get one free” incentive
  • Honda has unveiled a new city car prototype in Thailand called Brio. The car would sell for a little over $13k in Thailand.
  • NASA is holding some big press conference December 2nd regarding Saturn’s moon Titan…no word yet on what it’s about
  • Porsche will release a mini-SUV in 2014 called the Cajun (at least for now), based loosely on Audi’s Q5 platform.
  • Playboy has followed National Geographic’s lead from about a year ago, and has released every issue of the magazine, in digital form, on a single hard drive. The 250GB drive will set you back $300
  • More states are putting roundabouts in intersections rather than traditional crossed intersections. While many Americans seem confused by them, they’re safer than traditional intersections because speeds through them are low and head-on collisions are virtually eliminated. Since 2004, 100 have been added to Wisconsin roadways, and nearly as many in Kansas. Maryland has nearly 200 of them now.
  • Microsoft is working on plans to make the Xbox 360 more like a cable box, either offering bonus content to subscribers, or offering new channels altogether
  • Lamborghini has unveiled the Sesto Elemental, a $1.6 million car being produced for track day-use only.
  • Harvard researcher Ronald A. DePhinho has discovered a way to reverse age degeneration in mice.
  • VW has teased that a new microbus may be in the works
  • Android media management app DoubleTwist has released a wireless sync solution and it’s supposed to be pretty great
  • If you’d like your very own (non-functioning) Portal Gun, a super-awesome replica is being auctioned off for charity at a dinner in Seattle on December 7th

As always, the end of the episode is when Tony & Lou reveal their votes for this week’s Best & Worst entertainment moments.
