In TV (~26:50), the guys start off with The Walking Dead, then talk about The Event and Modern Family.  Tony gives The Office a bit of a hard time, then Lou follows up with Chuck, Chase, Hawaii 5.0, Stargate: Universe, Human Target and finally Fringe, with random TV news tidbits after that.

In Movies (~59:30), Tony and Lou both saw Hereafter, and Lou saw Skyline. Miscellaneous movie news follows.

In the Mash-Up segment (~1:21:30) the news this week includes:

  • An initiative called the Commercial Mobile Alert System aims to provide the same warning to cellphone users that the Emergency Broadcast System provides to radio listeners and TV watchers.
  • Scientists at CERN have captured 38 atoms of antihydrogen – the first time in history that anti-matter has actually been successfully captured and held onto for any length of time.
  • Panasonic now has a 3D version of its 103” plasma TV
  • Swiss researchers have developed a new type of computer memory that is 100,000 times faster than today’s hard drives.
  • RIM posted a video of the BlackBerry PlayBook in which they show the PlayBook’s browser running much faster than the one on the iPad.
  • The Beatles’ music is now available on iTunes
  • A Russian company has unveiled plans to build a domed city in an abandoned diamond mine in Siberia.
  • NASA wants to forget about rockets and make a hypersonic space plane that could take off from a runway, leave earth’s atmosphere at Mach 20, fly directly to Mars and then land there.
  • The Woz told a Dutch newspaper that he believes Android will be the dominant smartphone platform, not iOS.
  • The LA Auto Show is under way!
