In this episode, the guys talk about the usual stuff, but wrap up each section with their best & worst moments of the year for each.
In Video Games, Tony talks about God of War II a bit more and, omg, World of Warcraft (yes, Tony’s gone to the dark side). Lou’s got nothin’ new. Miscellaneous video game news after that.
In TV (~33:10), the guys discuss pretty much nothin’, because pretty much nothin’s on during the holidays. Which sucks. Random TV news and the Best & Worst for the year takes up most of this section.
In Movies (~54:10) The guys both saw Avatar in 3D. General movie news follows.
In the Mash-Up segment (~1:36:00) the news this week includes:
- Google’s Chrome OS netbook specs leaked
- DARPA’s Transformer flying car program
- Rumors about Apple’s tablet, supposedly called iSlate
- Panasonic’s whole-house lithium storage battery
- Audi’s updated MMI for the ’10 A8 sedan will feature Google Earth
As always, the end of the episode is when Tony & Lou reveal their votes for this week’s Best & Worst entertainment moments.
The pause.com Entertainment Podcast is hosted by long-time friends Tony Incopero and Lou Zucaro. Join them as they discuss all sorts of fun things in the world of entertainment, gaming, gadgets, cars and more with a healthy dose of their sense of humor.

Heya fellas,
First off, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both!
Got some input for y’all.
Video Games:
Tony, glad to see you joined the other 11 million players in what’s truly a fun and well done game. I’ve been playing WoW since release on and off and while it does have the typical grind that all other MMOs have, it’s still the best MMO I’ve ever played.
I picked up God of War after Christmas using a GC I received. Having already played I and II on the PS2 and both being my game of the year in their prospective years of release, I’m thrilled to come back to the games on a visually better platform. I haven’t tried the demo for III yet, but I’m very excited about it.
And Lou, you really need to bite the bullet and pick up a PS3, if not for any of the other reasons that Tony gives you weekly, then for this anthology alone. They’re amazing games and you’ll, no doubt, have a ball with them.
Some other suggestions. We picked up the new Lego Indiana Jones 2 game last week. It’s the next game that includes Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as well as parts from the previous 3 films they didn’t include on the first Lego Indy game. We’re having a blast with this one. It’s more of the same from the original as well as a new game play mechanic – driving. Each level requires you to hop in a vehicle and plow down X number of enemy vehicles by ramming your own into it. The physics are what makes it so enjoyable. Great game. But, I believe you have to have a Wii to play it (I’m not sure if it’s on other platforms), but worth the $40 if you have a Wii.
My wife and I now have Plants vs Zombies on every PC and laptop in the house. We can’t stop playing it even after picking it up 4 months ago. And I just read on Kotaku that it’s out on the iPhone in January.
Movies:
Check out http://www.blu-ray.com for great reviews, discussions and discounts just like the other site you mentioned.
I picked up Snatch, Terminator Salvation, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Star Trek and 300. Yeah, I went a little overboard, but I’ve been dying to get most of these on BD. While I didn’t really enjoy Terminator in the theaters, if you’ve got a nice video and sound setup in the house, it’s amazing on BD. I watched all 7.5 hours of the good, the bad… yesterday and it’s an awesome transfer. And it’s the directors cut, so it adds even more content than the original.
We saw Avatar finally and loved it. While the plot is thin, the visuals are truly amazing and it reminded me a lot of WoW. The CG was the most convincing I’ve ever seen and yes, there were some spots where it was obvious, but I did get lost in the CGI and it felt right once we got used to it. I was shocked to find that it was Zoe Saldana playing the lead female role. She was a nice choice. I was also very pleased with Michelle Rodriguez.
And we didn’t see it in 3D. We both suffer from motion sickness and had heard from many about ppl getting up in the middle of the film to go throw up or leave with a migraine. Both of which we would have suffered from had we seen the 3D version. Still a great film.

Great show guys. Thanks for the year of entertainment, laughs and friendship.
Keep it up!
PS – Lou, just buy it…everyone’s doing it.

I know, I know…my wife told me she was going to get me a PS3 for Christmas but we’d sorta said we weren’t buying “big” gifts for each other ever since our son was born, so she didn’t.
I’ll probably pick up one this year, though. Too many people say too many good things about it, and Uncharted 2, for me not to at this point, I think.
And yes, I know, Tony, it does everything.
I still haven’t played the first LEGO Indiana Jones game, but a friend of mine installed it for her sons and then got addicted to it herself, so I’m looking forward to getting into that at some point.
That’s cool about PvZ…I had SO much fun with that…what’s your record for Survival Endless? It gets really, really hard.
I had some gift cards for Best Buy after Christmas so we picked up Blu-rays of Star Trek, Up, Die Hard and, uh, shoot now I forgot what the last one was 🙁
It’s too bad that you can’t see Avatar in 3D because I think that’s really where it shines, but hey if you liked it anyway, then who really cares. And I agree with digging Rodriguez (finally).
Thanks for listening Strich!
