Day two from E3
Pause.com Correspondent Steve Espinosa here, today on day two of E3 and I have more big news for the Mario Bros. and TMNT and an old school PC game. Hit the clicky thingie to read more…
I got to see the first gameplay for the new Super Mario Bros. game. Some big improvements to the game include up to 4 player co-op and new characters, but I believe this will be only a sidestep for the game from the last release Mario Galaxy for the Wii. It’s only a side scroller which I feel is not the way of the next-gen consoles. It would have been an amazing game if it were able to be in a 3-D world. Check the gameplay here.
Another big addition to the existing franchise is the new TMNT game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled – a bit of a long name but a good one at that. Its obviously a remake of the 1991 arcade game brought exclusively for the Xbox LIVE at first and, later in the year, for the PSN. But fear not, you Wii lovers, there is another TMNT game coming soon exclusively for the Wii TMNT: Smash Up… yes its just like Super Smash Bros. game already out. You can play as any of the Turtles: Shredder, Splinter and much more. Check the trailer here.
If you’re a fan of the LEGO games then you have heard of the new Lego: Rock Band coming soon but they are also releasing the new Lego: Harry Potter. There is only a teaser trailer out now, which doesn’t show any gameplay and it doesn’t come out until next year, so it looks like you will have to get your LEGO fix from Rock Band for now.
Lastly, my favorite bit of news for the day…do you remember way back in the day a game for the computer back when you called it “playing computer” called The Secret of Monkey Island? Well good news! It’s coming back with all new graphics and new controls! I am so excited for this game…I was never able to beat the game so this could be like a redemption for me…I can’t wait!
That’s all for now, later!

Ok, that’s so funny about “playing computer” heh. I think Tony and I, in fact, would call each other up and say “Hey, can you come over and play computer?”
Also, you’ve reminded me that I need to play the LEGO Indiana Jones game I haven’t opened yet 🙁
I wasn’t as big a fan of the Monkey Island games as a lot of people were, but I do have a soft spot for pure adventure games, and I think it’s cool that they’re doing a “re-imagining”. There’s a trailer for it here:

I loved the monkey island games. I think they were fun because they were basic but still challenging and easy to get involved in the story. the cool thing about the new “reimaged” one is that you’ll be able to hit a button and pass back and forth between the old and new graphics at will.

yeah the story was the best part of them, but I don’t think you will able to pass back and forth between old and new I think it was just showing the difference between the old and the new. but still I can’t wait for it!! My daughter calls it “playing computer” its great.
